Privacy policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
FoldBoard is a keyboard, so it sees what you type. It is designed so that none of it ever leaves your phone.
No internet access
The FoldBoard app does not request Android's internet permission. It cannot send anything you type, learn, copy or say to us or to anyone else. We run no servers that receive data from the app, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
What stays on your device
- Learned words and word pairs, used for autocorrect and predictions. Not collected in password fields or in apps that ask keyboards not to learn.
- Clipboard history, if enabled. Items Android marks as sensitive are skipped.
- Recent emoji and your settings.
All of this is stored in the app's private storage and is removed when you uninstall FoldBoard. You can erase learned words and clipboard history at any time in FoldBoard's settings.
Voice typing
Voice typing uses the speech recognizer installed on your phone (for example from Google or Samsung). FoldBoard asks for on-device recognition when your phone supports it. If your phone's recognizer works online, your audio is processed by that recognizer's provider under its own privacy policy, not by FoldBoard. The microphone is only used while you are dictating.
